With our lead educator being the Personal Financial Literacy Coordinator for the New Jersey Department of Education, our goal is to help student-athletes be more financially prepared for life after college, wherever their paths may take them.
They will learn how to understand, and use, skills such as; financial management, budgeting, investing and saving for retirement.
According to a 2019 NCAA Convention presentation, "without basic financial literacy, student-athletes, who are managing between different sources of income and how they use it, are at risk of increased stress and anxiety levels."
A study from a team led by University of Georgia's Kenneth J. White found that, "when student athletes had greater levels of financial knowledge, their financial confidence increased at a higher rate than student non-athletes."
